The Gulf Between Us [ongoing]
The Arabian Peninsula is a popular destination for people from all over the world. Many visit for a short vacation or work, but some foreigners choose to reside in the Gulf for extended periods, sometimes even decades. Once you settle into life in the desert, you'll discover the region's unique culture and evolution into an urban oasis. The longer you stay, the more you'll come to appreciate the fascinating contrast between the once-modest Bedouin villages that have transformed into a global melting pot and the minority local population striving to maintain their cultural identity. I first visited the Gulf in 2009 and have lived as an Arabian expatriate since 2011.
